In recent years there has been notable progress in studies on the Constitution of 1812. Th e historiographical change that has occurred is important, and is due to a very diff erent political and ideological situation compared to previous decades, both nationally and internationally. Th e 1812 Constitution is no longer underestimated, and the study of its scope strictly in terms of the peninsula is no longer the norm. Th e 1812 Constitution can no longer be explained without taking into account the impact, through the shaping of its articles, of the bi-hemispheric vision arising from its architects being representatives from both the peninsular and the Americas. Neither should its importance in America and Europe be continued to be ignored.
