Abstract

The design of projects or guidelines on how to build a world legal order that makes peace or human rights possible has occupied a good number of philosophers and jurists throughout history. Within the framework of this tradition, but situated in the current context, Luigi Ferrajoli proposes extending the rule of law at the planetary level through a Constitution of the Earth. This work analyses and discusses this Constitution, assessing its viability and legitimacy, its novelty with respect to previous projects and its suitability to make the future of humanity possible.
