The entrance of robotics and artificial intelligence into the legal world is a fact and poses some challenges that have led to the emergence of a new legal branch: Robot law. In this paper, we review the current —and still unresolved in legal terms— issues regarding the general legal status of robots and the recognition of an eventual robotic person, the challenges of human-robot interaction, civil liability issues and the most urgent impact arising from autonomous cars and the replacement of workers by robots.
